Michael joined the UQBR Aquatics team as an undergraduate BMarSt student in 2012. He spent his first year with the facility undertaking both casual work and an honours project (studying the effects of stocking density and temperature on zebrafish development and sex bias).

Since then, Mike has become an integral part of the UQBR Aquatics team, not only as an aquatic technical officer but also as the teams dedicated Workplace Health and Safety Representative (WHSR). A keen science enthusiast, he has been known to volunteer time collecting sampling data for biology projects and can often be found out diving the reef or motor biking around Brisbane.
